There are several ways to connect to the internet; the most common ways are:
- Fiber‑optic internet: Very fast and reliable, great for video calls and cloud work.
- Cable internet: Common and affordable, but speeds can slow down at busy times.
- DSL (Digital Subscriber Line): Uses phone lines, available in many areas, but slower than fiber or cable.
- Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) / leased lines: A private, guaranteed‑speed connection for one business, best for companies that need very steady service.
- Cellular (4G/5G): Uses mobile towers for internet, often used for backup service or simple setups like card readers and small offices.
- Fixed wireless: Uses radio signals from a nearby tower to a small antenna on site. Helpful where fiber or cable are not available.
- Satellite internet: Uses a dish that talks to satellites in space. Useful in remote areas, but can be slower and affected by weather.
